SWIC EMPLOYER ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

I have served on the SWIC Employer Advisory Committee for many, many years.  Let me tell you, if you met the individuals who worked in the Career Center, you would understand why I have enjoyed myself for so many years.  The Career Center assists students with internships, finding jobs, deciding on a career and much more.  The staff are so dedicated and that shows in everything they do for the students.

My hats off to all individuals in the Career Center at SWIC.

SEEKING NEW IDEAS FOR SECOND BOOK

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

We hope that you have had a chance to read “Customer Service and Beyond … it is all about the WOW!”.  Sales are great and we are hoping to complete the third order very soon.  For the second book, I am hoping to acquire some additional stories.  If you would like to share, please e-mail me at dawn@customerserviceandbeyond.com.  We would absolutely love to hear from you!

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

It was a pleasure to speak with the SWIC students at the Granite City Campus on Monday night.  We spoke on leadership and what makes both a good and a bad leader.  I encouraged them to think of those leaders that have inspired them and incorporate those traits into their management style.  Also, they should remember those leaders who lead by poor example and remember to not mimic them.

One thing that excites me is seeing students who are continuing their education.  These are individuals who work full time, have families and other things in their life, but understand the importance of more education.  If you have been thinking about continuing your education, I encourage you to sign up today.

WISH ME LUCK!

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Well, we have mailed the book to both The Oprah Show and O Magazine.  Wish me luck.  I am hoping that my karma (along with yours) will help someone open the book and read a brief snipit.  Also, the books were mailed to the producers of the morning show for Channels 2, 4 and 5 (locally in St. Louis).  Last week I met Cornbread and he was also mailed a book.

So, Gloria please ring your bell.  We need it.

CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

It was a pleasure to conduct a customer service training for the Troy/Maryville Area Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.  There were many representatives from many local businesses and everyone seemed to take away something.  We are planning on a Customer Service 102 class sometime in November and some additional training events in the new year.

If your company would like to discuss Customer Service and Beyond coming to your office to assess your training needs, please contact me at dawn@customerserviceandbeyond.com.  Remember, even if your service is good, we want to help you make it great!

IT’S MONDAY NIGHT!

Monday, October 20th, 2008

I have been trying very hard to keep my blog updated.  Monday has rolled around and I realized I went the entire weekend without updating.  Between the keeping up at the Chamber and keeping up with Customer Service and Beyond, I haven’t really had any time to do anything worth writing about.

This weekend was a nice “catch up” weekend and I would encourage anyone who is feeling a little anxious to take some time to get caught.  It is a great feeling.

IT IS ALL ABOUT TRACE

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Last night we had the pure pleasure to see Trace Adkins in concert.  WOW!  If you have never seen him, and you are ever interested in spending time with a hot man, I would encourage you to purchase a ticket.  When he sings “One Hot Mama” (which he sang directly to me, of course), it will make your toes curl.

Also, I met Cornbread from WIL and mentioned my book.  He would like for me to drop him a copy.  Wish me luck.

ON THE RADIO

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

My thanks to Nancy Herold who opened up a whole new world for me this evening.  I was actually a guest on her internet radio show.  What a fantastic experience!  I have the link available if you would like to listen.  I’m going to try to post it on my site but just in case it doesn’t work, just e-mail me at dawn@troycoc.com and I can forward it to you.  (This is all very new to me and I am not afraid to admit that it is way above my head!)

Thank you again, Nancy, and to give her a plug, please visit her at Art of the Matter in Glen Carbon.  She also has a new CD and is a fantastic artist.

BOOK RECORDING

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Today I recorded my book to CD.  It was actually very exciting but a really long day.  So, if anyone wants to order the book on CD, be sure to be the first!
